Artwell offers a wide range of programming for the whole family, from
education to poetry readings, performance to open mic. Our goal is
to offer the community quality programing at the lowest possible cost.
At Artwell we take our motto "Art for All" very seriously!
Our
education program provides coursework in the fine and digital arts, for
children and adults. At the Digital Learning Center, we explore the use
of computer teachnology in artmaking. We offer practical classes in Page
Layout, Web Design, Photoshop and Flash. At the Creative
Learning Center, we offer the community a chance to create and
learn with Artwell's many member artists and instructors. Courses include Master
Drawing for kids, Watercolor for adults and Nature
Printing for everyone. These low-cost
classes are one of the cornerstones of Artwell's mission.
Every Tuesday
night we offer Life Drawing. A strong group of devoted artists gather
to draw, share and critique. This unique opportunity provides working
artists valuable weekly feedback and support.
In addition to supporting
the visual arts, Artwell provides an avenue for emerging and established
performance artists to share their talents with audiences in an intimate
setting. Artwell has hosted performances by numerous musical groups,
children's theatre troupes, puppet artists from China and Indonesia and
New York City actors. We hold teen events and children's perfomances.
Artwell offers culture for the whole family!
Common Thread is a loose affiliation of poets,
writers and musicians who inspire and entertain Artwell patrons with
their words and sounds. Artwell is pleased to host Now
Hear This, an evening
of open mic performances, at the gallery on a regular basis.
Anyone wishing to share their talents with an appreciative audience
can sign up for a ten-minute slot. Music, poetry, comedy, spoken word
and storytelling... there's always something that touches your soul.
